Jeevan Hingorani has been accepted onto the Financial Times Non-Executive Director Diploma Course commencing on 12 March 2019. The course provides practical insight into the operations of public companies at board level and the stringent regulatory requirements they need to meet in the modern age.

Jeevan Hingorani and Kevin Li achieved a landmark success for the Plaintiff in a hard-fought probate battle involving challenges to a will based on due execution, testamentary capacity and knowledge & approval grounds. Having lost at first instance, they succeeded on appeal to the Court of Appeal whose Judgment is of considerable importance to probate practitioners. The Defendant’s applications for leave to appeal to the CA and the Leave Committee of the CFA were soundly rejected. See Choy Po Chun & Ano v Au Wing Lun.

The Members of Pacific Chambers are delighted to announce the appointment of David Boyton as their new Head of Chambers from 1st December 2017. After completing almost 8 years as Head of Chambers John Reading, BBS, SC is stepping down. He will continue in full time practice in what is his 40th year of practice.

 

David Boyton was called to the Bar in 1997 and is an experienced criminal trial advocate. David has in recent years also acted in a number of notable appeals, including HKSAR v CHU Chi-ho [2017] 4 HKLRD 688; HKSAR v Castaneda [2017] 1 HKLRD 705; HKSAR v LAU Chung-piu [2016] 4 HKLRD 474; and HKSAR v CHAN Tam-fu [2016] 1 HKLRD 608.
