Intending pupils must be familiar with the Barristers (Qualifications for Admission) Rules, Cap. 159AC and acquaint themselves with the helpful information found at the "Admissions and Pupillage" drop-down menu on the Hong Kong Bar Association website, www.hkba.org.
While intending pupils are always welcome to discuss the prospects of a career at the Bar with any member of Chambers, applications for pupillage should be sent by post addressed to the Head of the Pupillage Committee, stating any particular field of intended specialism or term of pupillage. All applications must comprise of a cover letter, curriculum vitae and academic transcript.
Pacific Chambers receives law students interested shadowing barristers during term breaks, during which they may be exposed to various aspects of what life at the Bar may entail. Internships are limited to one or two weeks, depending on the number of applicants, are not remunerated and regarded as an important part of a law student's education in the practical aspects of the law. Generally, preferences will be given to students in their senior years of studies.
Qualified barristers and Senior Counsel interested in exploring prospects for future tenancy should approach the Head of Chambers in the first instance.
