Jeevan Hingorani

Jeevan came to Hong Kong in 1981 as an in-house lawyer before going into private practice the following year. After 12 years at the criminal bar, during which he was involved in numerous high profile cases, he moved to civil practice initially focusing on personal injuries and medical negligence litigation, inquests and general common law.

For the last 18 years, apart from maintaining a small niche practice in medical work, Jeevan has engaged for the most part in corporate, commercial, banking, shipping and construction cases, being particularly interested in those that require detailed dissection and have multi-jurisdictional elements, including BVI law.

Jeevan is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a CEDR accredited mediator. He is also the author of “Medical Abbreviations and Other Interpretive Tools” and the President of the New Medico-Legal Society of Hong Kong.

In 2010, with a view to contributing to public service, Jeevan took up appointment on an appeals tribunal in which he is a serving member.

Jeevan was educated at Stockport Grammar School, United Kingdom, followed by 4 years at University of Bristol Medical School before studying law in Manchester.
