About Paul
Paul maintains a civil practice covering both advocacy and advisory work in matters involving construction, commercial, land, bankruptcy & winding-up, tort and employment law.
He has appeared as sole counsel in the High Court, District Court, Lands Tribunal and Magistrates’ Court, and as a volunteer advocate in the Employment Tribunal (England & Wales). He is regularly involved in international arbitration, and has appeared as junior counsel in bilingual and virtual international arbitration hearings. He acted as junior counsel for an involved party in the Commission of Inquiry into the Construction Works at and near the Hung Hom Station Extension under the Shatin to Central Link Project.
Paul has a particular focus in construction and engineering arbitration and court proceedings and has acted or advised on Belt and Road Initiative projects. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Prior to joining the bar, he had over ten years' experience in the construction industry in Hong Kong and the UK.
Paul was a Society of Construction Law Hong Kong Scholar in 2017. He is a native speaker of both English and Cantonese.
