About Jonathan
Jonathan joined Chambers in 2022 after completing his pupillage with Mr Giles Surman, Mr Hew Yang-Wahn, Mr Andrew Raffell and Mr Robin Egerton, and is currently on extended pupillage with Mr Kumar Ramanathan SC. He had previously served as marshal to the Hon Chu JA, the Hon Zervos JA and HHJ A Tse Ching (sitting as Family Court Judge).
Jonathan is developing a broad civil and criminal practice with a particular focus on family law. Jonathan has worked on a wide range of matrimonial finance and children matters, including but not limited to GMO applications, relocation applications, CDRs and FDRs (court, private and mediator-assisted), MPS and litigation funding applications, DCRVO applications, application for Hadkinson Order and costs.
In addition to family practice, Jonathan has exposure in chancery and civil matters involving trusts, land, wills and probate, and applications under the Mental Health Ordinance. Jonathan is also well versed in criminal law with experience in defending offences against the person, sexual offences, immigration offences, white-collar crimes etc.
Jonathan is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin and is capable of preparing submissions, advice and documents in both Chinese and English. He accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers’ work.
