About Chester

Chester commenced his journey at Chambers in 2022 following the successful completion of his pupillage under the guidance of Mr. Ambrose Ho SC, Mr. Norman Nip SC, Mr. Tony Li SC, and Mr. Alan Ng. Prior to embarking on pupillage, Chester obtained his Master of Laws degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science, specializing in company and insolvency law.

With a focus on cultivating a diverse civil and criminal practice, Chester is well-versed in all facets of Chambers’ work, particularly excelling in trusts, probate, company disputes, international trade finance, insolvency matters, land issues, construction and matrimonial cases. His expertise has been sought by both listed corporations and high net-worth individuals for advice and representation in a wide array of disputes, including urgent injunctions and resisting security for costs applications.

In the realm of criminal law, Chester's experience spans from white-collar crimes to departmental summonses, as well as cases involving violent crime, sexual offenses, traffic violations, regulatory breaches, and drug-related offenses, encompassing trials and appeals. He has successfully led criminal trials as a sole advocate and appeared in Magistracy Appeals before the Court of First Instance.

Beyond his legal practice, Chester contributes to academia as a part-time law lecturer at the University of Hong Kong School of Professional and Continuing Education.

Proficient in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, Chester possesses the ability to draft legal documents proficiently in Chinese.

  • HKSAR v. T.H.Y. (KTS 9479/2024) - Obtained ONE bind-over for a charge for making false declaration to the Housing Authority
